FOR CHICK: JOHN PATITUCCI, BEKA GOCHIASVILI, AND DAVE WECKL Announce World Tour and New Album Honoring Chick Corea
Founding members of Chick Corea’s Grammy-winning Akoustic Band, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Dave Weckl, reunite to celebrate the legacy of one of the greatest artists in jazz history. Joined by pianist Beka Gochiashvili, mentored by Corea and hailed by him as “the future of jazz,” the trio launches a world tour with select U.S. appearances in late 2026, followed by international touring in 2027 across the U.S., Europe, and Japan, spanning concert halls, performing arts centers, jazz festivals, and intimate listening rooms.
The tour supports For Chick, a new album of 12 tracks recorded over three days at Bunker Studio in Brooklyn in December 2025. The repertoire draws from the Akoustic Band book, unexpected Corea gems, and two new originals written in his spirit, crafted as distinct listening experiences for double vinyl, CD, and streaming.
“I know Chick loved [Beka], and if there was anyone at all to represent the name, I think Chick would be very pleased with how the trio plays together,” said drummer Dave Weckl.
