GREG SPERO is a pianist, composer, producer, and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, and the founder of The Recording Club, a private membership recording studio and creative hub in Santa Monica. Designed as a modern home for serious musicians, The Recording Club combines world-class recording facilities, live performance capabilities, and a vibrant community of artists collaborating at the highest level.
The club evolved from Spero’s earlier project known as the “Tiny Room,” a small experimental studio where late-night jam sessions brought together many of Los Angeles’ most adventurous musicians. Those gatherings grew into a widely recognized creative scene, attracting artists such as Domi & JD Beck, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Lauren Jauregui, Ty Dolla Sign, and Lido. Over time, the concept expanded into what is now The Recording Club, where recording sessions, concerts, educational programs, and collaborative projects happen daily.
Alongside his work as a studio founder, Spero is the bandleader of Spirit Fingers Trio, a high-energy jazz fusion group featuring drummer Mike Mitchell (Blaque Dynamite) and bassist Mohini Dey. The trio blends virtuosic improvisation, deep groove, and forward-thinking composition, distilling the Spirit Fingers sound to piano, bass, and drums for a raw and electrifying musical interplay. The trio’s premiere performance video recently surpassed 4.4 million views on Instagram in its first month, reflecting the rapidly growing audience for their modern fusion sound.
Earlier in his career, Spero toured internationally for four years as keyboardist and sound designer for Halsey, performing at major venues including Madison Square Garden and appearing on television programs such as Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Tonight Show. His career as a musician, bandleader, and producer spans collaborations across jazz, pop, and experimental music.
Through both Spirit Fingers and The Recording Club, Spero’s work centers on building environments where creativity, improvisation, and collaboration thrive. Whether leading a band on stage or designing a physical space for artists to create, his mission remains the same: to bring musicians together and push the future of modern music forward.
