The first nomination is for Best Instrumental Album for A Tribute to Benny Moré, performed by the Gonzalo Rubalcaba Trio featuring Joey Calveiro and Yainer Horta. The album pays tribute to the legendary Cuban composer and vocalist Benny Moré, bringing Rubalcaba’s distinctive musical language and contemporary perspective to the repertoire.
Rubalcaba’s second nomination is in the Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album category for Gonzalo Plays Pino, a project with the Gonzalo Rubalcaba Trio that explores the music of bassist and composer Pino Daniele through the trio’s unique approach to jazz and improvisation.
